In June, Senior Housing News interviewed Greystone Co-CEO John Spooner about the future of continuing care retirement communities. The article starts by suggesting that some are questioning if future seniors will want the CCRC lifestyle and also whether or not they will be able to afford it.

“You hear debates or conversations about that, and they seem to circulate around every few years,” Spooner says in the article. “They’ve just proven themselves as an important, reliable provider of services, care, and quality for 100 years now. Their future, in my view, is solid.”

That’s not to say that CCRCs won’t change, grow and evolve in the future. In fact, Spooner outlines a number of ways the industry may shift in the coming months and years, including seniors getting greater control over monthly costs and assisted living centers offering more specialty care (like memory support).

Spooner recently addressed many of these same topics at Greystone’s Sales Adventure conference for marketing professionals. See highlights of Spooner’s presentation at Sales Adventure using the video player below, and read his full interview with Senior Housing News.
