Construction continues at John Knox Village, a continuing care retirement community in Lee’s Summit, Mo. JKV is undertaking a repositioning project that will add new independent living and commons spaces to its sprawling campus.
The first phase of expansion includes The Courtyards, a 52-unit independent living center plus an additional building that features a restaurant, beauty salon and theater. Construction of the apartments is complete, and work on the new commons spaces is just past the halfway point. See photos below. (Story continues below photos.)
The second phase of JKV’s expansion includes The Meadows, a 112-unit independent living building. Demolition of existing cottages and two apartment buildings will clear the site for construction of the new apartments. See demolition photos below, followed by renderings of what The Meadows will look like once complete. (Story continues below photos and renderings.)
Since 1970, John Knox Village has served seniors with independent living options and a full continuum of long-term health care services. Beyond its 400-plus-acre campus in Lee’s Summit, JKV also provides home health services in the Greater Kansas City area and surrounding counties in Missouri and Kansas.
