For the 39th year, marketing and sales professionals from around the country gathered for Greystone’s Sales Adventure — a meeting that delivers education and motivation to senior living sales team members. This year’s main conference was held May 1-2 at the Worthington Renaissance Hotel in Fort Worth (AKA Funkytown) and embraced all things “Funky”. The program included two days of education sessions and ample networking opportunities. During the General Sessions, the Sales Adventure speakers addressed:
- Being a Brave Hearted Rebel at Work – Keynote presentation given by the Lois Kelly, the inventor of brave hearted rebellion
- The Importance of Teamwork and Techniques to Make it Successful
- Industry Update and Awareness from the leading engagement and satisfaction research company for residents, employees and other stakeholders of senior living and retirement communities
- Senior Living Trends and Technology, Changing Market and the Challenges Ahead
- The Art of Storytelling and how to use it to increase sales
- And much more
Breakout sessions including smaller groups discussing The Power of Brand in an Increasingly Tech-Driven World, Innovation, Lead Shift in a Digital World, Staying Relevant in an Ever-Changing Health Care Environment, The Sales Journey beyond the Sales Funnel and Hospitality Meets Health Care.
Evening events featured the funk through entertainment by: Henry + The Invisibles (Texas’ best one-man-funk-band), a Magic Mirror photo booth, Vogue Sketch Artist Benjamin Vincent, snacks by Funkytown Donuts, a MirMir “Flawless” photo booth and The Southpaw Preachers (Denton’s amazing 7-piece funk band).
Prior to the main event, a smaller group of Sales and Marketing Directors gathered for a two-day Marketing Director Conference in which they discussed a variety of topics affecting sales leaders including Marketing vs. Sales, Time Management, Leadership Protocols, Health Care, Coachability and more. This group enjoyed two nights of networking dinners and were also treated to an afternoon of pampering: the men enjoyed a trip to The Lathery, Funkytown’s premier grooming store, and the ladies were treated to a custom-made lipstick from MYX Blend Bar.
Each year, Sales Adventure also honors top performers from the prior year. This year’s honorees included:

Health Services Sales Counselor of the Year: Kacey Hargis from Grove Pointe
Senior Living Counselor of the Year: Robbi Cleveland from Gulf Coast Village
Sales and Marketing Director of the Year: Nicole Burke from Canterbury Court
Blue Sky Sales Team of the Year: Jennifer Boisvert, Carrie Conrad, Jill Pennington, April Morin, Susan Parsons from Beacon Pointe at Fleet Landing Sales Team
Operational Sales Team of the Year: John Storz, Lorayne Russman, Heather Lince from The Terraces of Boise
