More Than 60 Attend Greystone’s Annual Development Conference

Greystone held its annual Development Conference this month at the La Cima Club in Irving, Texas. More than 60 senior living professionals representing 29 organizations gathered for two days of education and networking. This year’s education sessions included: State of the Niche, Risk Management 101, Mitigating and Managing Scheduled Risk, Risk Transfer From a Developer’s Perspective, From a Resident’s Perspective, Designing for Operational Effectiveness, Trends in Material and more.

Video: See Time-Lapse Footage of Edgewood Summit’s Phase III

Edgewood Summit’s Phase III expansion received its certificate of occupancy late last month. Located in Charleston, W.Va., Edgewood Summit includes 127 independent living units and 40 assisted living units. This expansion adds 18 memory support units and 20 skilled nursing beds, completing the continuum of care. Greystone is serving as development and management consultant at Edgewood Summit.

Aberdeen Heights Veterans Travel to Washington D.C.

A group of 15 World War II and Korean War veterans who live at Aberdeen Heights traveled this week from St. Louis to Washington D.C. to visit war memorials. This journey is part of the Honor Flight program that transports war veterans from their homes to the nation’s capital so that they can “visit and reflect at their memorials.” The group from Aberdeen Heights is the largest from one location to participate in the St. Louis Honor Flight. Aberdeen Heights is a continuing care retirement community in the St. Louis suburb of Kirkwood, Mo. Sponsored by Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, Aberdeen Heights opened in 2011. Greystone served as development consultant on the project and is now serving as management consultant.

The Stayton at Museum Way Earns Design Award

The Stayton at Museum Way has earned an Award of Excellence in the 2013 Assisted Living Federation of America Senior Living by Design competition. Sponsored by Senior Quality Lifestyles, The Stayton opened in fall 2011. It includes 181 independent living units, seven catered living units, 42 assisted living units, 20 memory support suites and 46 skilled nursing beds. D2 Architecture designed The Stayton.
